Grateful; Allentown + Allen West; The Flo

“If you never get around to doing all of the things you want to do, think of the things that you didn't count on doing that you've been able to do.” - Germany Kent
Sitting here feeling very grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve been presented with lately. I know I manifested growth at the new year but I truly didn’t expect it to happen so fast. If you told me in January that I’d become legit, find double the stockists, and become a teaching artist all before summer I’d say you’re on hard drugs. Lo and behold, here we are y’all. It’s truly a dream come true and I couldn’t have done it without the continued support from all of you.
If you pay attention, you’re probably doing the math in your head and thinking, “wait, that would put you at like 7 or 8 stockists then; wouldn’t it?” And yes you’re 100% right! Over this past week/weekend, I found a couple new local to Buffalo places wanting to stock my work! One I can’t announce yet so you’ll have to wait on that one but the first one I can announce will be The Flo Spa on Allen St! I also was chatting with my near and dear gal Kait ( @kaitsclaycreationsandmore ) and we've been chatting about splitting her shelf at Naples Herbs and Art! Still working up a collection specifically for Naples so for all my folks out that way, keep your eyes peeled on when that will happen!
The Flo is a floatation therapy center offering a sensory-free relaxation experience. If you’re unfamiliar with floatation therapy, you lay horizontal in a state-of-the-Art tank with 16 inches of water, consistent warm air (95 degrees), and the water is infused with over 1,300 pounds of epsom salts. I cannot wait to book my first session one of these days. Not only are there a number of health benefits to doing floatation therapy, it can also be a very spiritual experience if you want it to be. With your physical body not needing any energy, it can redirect that energy to somewhere more needed, say your crown chakra?
I wasn’t vending this weekend, shockingly; so we decided to take the opportunity and walk the Allentown and Allen West art festivals. We had walked the whole festival, I finished my business errands and visiting vendor friends. Thought to ourselves, grab some Tiny Thai on the way back to our car and head home. As we were walking down Allen, we spot a cool spiritual looking place and as most people do, scope out outside before deciding to enter. Brandon has chronic back pain from being in so many car accidents so the idea of rejuvenation and relaxation immediately drew him in and all anyone needs to summon me are some nice gems; lol! They had some GORGEOUS stones in there and I ended up coming home with four (4) coffin shaped cabochons for the business.
Side note; if you’re a small business owner and/or an artist, you should always be repping what you make! I don’t think this next bit would have happened if I wasn’t.
Alright back to the story. So I went up to the register to cash out for the cabs and we got to talking how I planned to use them for my business. They asked what I create and I was wearing this pendant;Yellow Honey Calcite pendant wrapped in copper wire with smaller crystals and beads the one I normally always wear at markets & events. I showed them and they fell in love. It truly stunned me to see so much love shown on a piece that took so long to create. My headies are my true passion in what I make. So we got to talking and I’m going to be stocking them with headies! So excited and eternally grateful for the opportunity to showcase these in person. They are truly a spectacle of wonder so be sure to make an appointment to see all the amazing things they have in store.
As for my other stockist news, you will have to wait a little bit longer for that. Just keep following and staying up to date and you won’t miss a thing!
I hope you enjoyed this lil story from this past weekend and also take the time to sit and be grateful for all the things in your life.
Stay grounded,
Ashley
